John 12:41-43

⁴¹ Such things Isaiah said when he saw his glory and spoke of him.

⁴² Nevertheless, among the chief rulers many believed on him. But because of the Pharisees, they would not acknowledge it, lest they should be excommunicated. ⁴³ For they loved the praise that is given by men more than the praise that comes of God.
